I Found my Babysitting Directions for my Kids with Autism

So I was going through my old journal, and I found written directions for our first babysitter that was not family. Quite funny!

"You can have them watch movies ALL night if you want...There is a portable DVD player in the study on top of the TV.

My kids aren't good at the whole conversation thing. Basically, Caiti doesn't talk at all, and Garrett says lines from TV or asks for things he wants, so don't feel bad if they don't answer your questions.

They pretty much entertain themselves. If you get bored and want to play with them, they LOVE bubbles (which are on top of the fridge.) They also like little kid songs (i.e., Eensy Weensie Spider, Wheels on the Bus, 5 Little Speckled Frogs, ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle, Popcorn Popping, Row, Row , Row Your Boat...)

Garrett is in a climbing phase (yippee!). Don't be alarmed if he is on the desk, entertainment center, etc. He doesn't fall off (scary I know). Tell him, "No climbing. Get down!" and hopefully he will, cause he's 50 lbs and quite heavy. If not, he's never jumped or fallen...so...yeah, hopefully he'll just be good.

Bedtime...Garrett thinks he can't go to bed until Kevin does...but when he gets tired, if Kevin's not home, sometimes he will just lay down and go to sleep (either on my bed, his bed or the couch...yeah).

Caiti will go to sleep around 10 if you hold her and give her a drink. She and Garrett both sleep on the bed in the last room on the left with the Spongebob bedding.

Koolaid is on the top shelf in the fridge (lid on top because Garrett sometimes brings it to you when he's thirsty.) I don't really have any snacks right now because I need to go grocery shopping.

Okay, I think that is it.

Please call me if you need me! Have fun!

Oh...Diapers are on the window sill. I just changed them both, so hopefully you won't have to worry about that.
