The Journeys of Dora and Blue (and sometimes Boots) as told by Caiti

Hi, I'm Caiti, and I LOVE my friends Dora, Blue and Boots.  I take them everywhere I go.  Here's my story of where they went today.

Dora and Blue were hungry so they tried climbing up the cupboard thingies to get to the counter and find something to eat.

Then I decided I missed my daddy, so I took Dora and Blue to the computer so they could see a picture of him.  I guess daddy already met Dora, since she's in the pic too.  :)

Mommy decided to get me ready for the day, so Dora and Blue waited for me on the couch, where they met with their friend Boots.

Okay, I'm back.  You can continue your journey.

This table is a nice place to rest.  Maybe mommy will get the hint that I want to eat...or maybe not.

I guess watching TV is just as good, especially if I can watch my buddies at the same time.

My friends are almost as cute as me!  The End!!!!

Autism and Potty Training....blech.

So Garrett's been in the potty training process for over a year.  He's finally gotten that you pee in the potty, but only if we take him.  He's also set on the idea that poop doesn't go in the potty, but that you sneak and hide in the backyard and poop in the diaper.  Eyeroll.  Hope that one can change soon.  We're working really hard on this so that he can be potty trained for first grade.  Ideally, he would be potty trained by the time Kevin gets back, but no fingers crossed on that one.  :)  Here are our fun aids for potty training.

I made a sign for the door with some cool "people" who use the potty.  I was quite excited to find that funny pic of Elmo.  

 Here is our appetizing reinforcement poster that we put up right in front of the potty.  I colored the water yellow for the pee pee...the person who peed really wasn't that dehydrated.  Found the images on google images, so don't think I was taking pics of my own waste.  So yeah, if he pees, he gets a popsicle, and if he poops he gets gluten free waffles.  Good thing he likes how they taste, because they're not so good.  Actually, we may have to go off the diet and give him Gogurts to get him to poop in the potty because he REALLY wants those and maybe he would actually try for that. 

 Here is the most essential part of our potty training kit, the timer.  I don't have the right brain to remember to take Garrett potty, so this lovely timer reminds me every 20 minutes.

Sunday Morning

Happy Fourth!

Our fourth started out kind of boring...but we did do something fun, we wore matching patriotic tees...

Then we went to our friends, the Rivera's, for a barbecue.  I was pretty nervous to go because my kids are kind of crazy when it comes to food, and they didn't dissapoint.  Before the day was done, both Garrett and Caiti had stolen other people's cupcakes, Jason had dropped a cookie into a lady's coffee, and Caiti had grabbed her own food off of the table, like a great big piece of steak....

But the kids sure were cute, and enjoyed eating the delicious food.

They also really loved the attention they got from their friends, Jay and Rachael (the Riveras) and the great concert we got from their son (and my buddy) Bryan.  I loved the attention they got too.  It was nice to get a little break.

Garrett started acting like he didn't feel very well, so we had to head home, but it was nice to have some plans on the fourth and to visit with some good friends.

Happy 4th Daddy/Honey!  We miss you and are excited to see you soon.  Thanks for helping protect the freedoms that we all enjoy.  Love you!
