Contrary Caiti
Why is it that I spend my days constantly redressing Caiti after she strips down, but yet...

Missing Kevin on Father's Day
Kevin, the daddy in our house, is such a great father. I am always amazed at how much he loves his children unconditionally and is able to see exactly what they need. Caiti especially has him wrapped around her little finger. I was so worried when he left for deployment, because Kevin was always able to calm her and make her feel happy when no one else could.
Garrett misses his daddy so much that he cries when we turn off the "daddy movie" that his grandpa made before Kevin left for basic training. He loves to sit under his daddy blankie that we got from operation kid comfort, and he will hold Kevin's and my engagement picture while he falls asleep. When he is worried, he will say, "Daddy all gone." or "Daddy on the ship." Garrett's favorite buddy is his daddy. He loves to play with him, and Kevin loves playing with his little boy.
Jason was born while Kevin was at basic training, but Jason has always known who his daddy was. His first smile ever was up at his daddy the first time Kevin held him at basic training. He was always so cute and did the shy smile and lean into my shoulder when Kevin would talk to him. Now, I will show him a picture of Kevin, and he will get a big grin. He's almost got the word, "Daddy" down. He will calm right down when he's looking at Kevin's picture.
I'm so excited for August 1, when we will all be able to see Kevin again. We are so thankful that he is sacrificing so much for his family and his country. He is such a good provider both physically and emotionally for his babies. We miss him very much and love him even more.

Preschool Party!
Today there was a party at Garrett and Caiti's preschool class. The parents were invited, so Michelle, Jason and I ventured to Kumeyaay Elementary School to see just what goes on in their preschool class. When we got there, they were having fun with sensory activities.
Garrett especially loves this tub of all different dry beans and corn that he can just run his fingers through. I must admit I enjoyed that sensory experience myself.
Caiti's sensory experience was a little messier. She got to put shaving cream on a balloon. She loves to play with shaving cream. Needless to say, she left in a different shirt than she came in.
After the sensory fun, they were able to go play with toys. Caiti's favorite thing is this fun chair shaped like an egg that you can pull the curtain over. Garrett also liked this. I actually had seen this chair at Ikea before and had been tempted to purchase it for the kids but used all my strength and didn't. So, at least they got to play in it at school.
Next they had circle time. During circle time they sang a lot of songs where they got to play with instruments or do actions. They also threw a beach ball around, and I was in utter shock when Garrett caught it easily both times it was thrown to him. They did an activity with their pictures and names. Each person was supposed to grab their picture and say their name and spell it and then go to the other students and say "hi so and so" to each of them. I'm not saying it worked perfectly, but I was glad to see they are also working on helping Garrett and Caiti learn their names. They showed a very cute DVD presentation with pictures from the school year. They even gave us an extra copy to send to Kevin. Yay.
After circle time they got to have yummy snacks and play outside! Yay! I enjoyed watching my cute kids running around so happily. Of course, you could find both Garrett and Caiti playing in the sandbox. Caiti's version of heaven would have sand everywhere you look.
Jason and Caiti were both practicing their walking skills. Jason enjoyed his freedom and didn't even need to hold my hand. Caiti did such a good walking along the balance beam.
This seemed to be Garrett's favorite perch on the playground.
Caiti's favorite place is of course the tile on the side of the building where she can talk to and admire her good friend, her reflection. The lady in this picture is their teacher, Ms. Miller. We love her. She's been so good for the kids. We are sad she is retiring this year.
This was Garrett's goodbye to preschool. He goes back on Monday and for summer school, but next time he goes to school, he will be in kindergarten. My baby's getting so big!

What happens when your washing machine is broken
So a couple weeks ago, our washing machine overflowed and flooded the laundry room and the kitchen. Luckily, all I had to do was call maintenance to get the water cleaned up and dried out. However, now I've had to go to the laundromat a couple times. Here is an illustration of how much laundry we go through in our house in a week. Sigh...
Who says you need bubbles to have fun in the bath?
If we need to find Garrett, one of the first places we look is the bathtub. It is the perfect place to practice trapeze walking and to get some alone time. :)
Jason used to absolutely detest baths. Then all of a sudden, he's trying to climb in anytime anyone is in the tub. We love the towels that Ant Larraine made my babies. They are so snuggly and fun.
Caiti has some special soap that we put on her before her bath. We are supposed to leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off, so to keep her occupied, we put her in the sink so she can stare at her favorite person, herself. I can't blame her. I think she's a cutie too!

I have a great dentist
My favorite dentist is Dr. Jacob Froerer. Maybe you know him. He's so accomodating, he'll even let you hold a baby on your lap while pulling your teeth.
As many of you know, I never had big teeth grow in under 8 of my baby teeth. I got a bunch of work done about 10 years ago on one side of my mouth but was unable to afford to get the other side taken care of. I felt like I looked like a kid on the left and a grown up on the right.
Here's my before shot...
And here is after my wonderful dentist was through making all my teeth look like grown up teeth. I must say I'm happy with the result!
