Jason's 1-year Checkup

I took Jason last week for his 1-year checkup. He weighed 23 lbs and was 30 inches long. I love my cute little boy who isn't a baby anymore!

We LOVE Zac Browser

So a long time ago, I discovered this website www.zacbrowser.com It has a browser that you can either upload to your computer or just run on your computer. It was designed by a grandpa for his grandson Zac, who has autism. ZAC (as far as the website is concerned) stands for Zone for Autistic Children, and it has large buttons to click on, it disables the right click on the mouse, so your child can't do anything to your computer. It's just great. Garrett has really taken to this website, and basically if we aren't on the computer, he makes a beeline for it. There are all kinds of games, stories, songs and movie clips that are kid-friendly, and actually have taught Garrett a thing or two. I'm so excited because Garrett had no clue how to use the mouse before, but now he is a pro and will even come up and x us out of what we are working on and click on the Zac Browser icon. (So annoying!) I think he's pretty cute, and I'm glad he's found something to do besides bounce off the walls. :)

Almost Summer!

I think one of the best thing about living in California is the constant good weather and the fenced in yard. Caiti is all about being outside, and she is so happy when she can play out there on the slide or the little trampoline and just bask in the sun. She's even getting her first freckles. Her mommy is so proud!

Song for Caiti

Caiti's first teacher was a great guy. He was known for running "baby boot camp" to get the kids who weren't quite ready for preschool acclimated to a school setting. One day he came over for a meeting with me, and my sister Michelle talked him into singing a song for Caiti. Here it is. (I'm mostly posting this so Caiti can see).

Michelle always says that she likes to take pictures of Garrett and Caiti because they don't pose. What you see is what you get. I am so grateful for my beautiful children who have taught me so much about love.

Nicole's April Visit

We were so happy to have Nicole come visit for about a week. Although it was a little crazy at my house with sick kids, busy schedules, etc., it sure was nice to have our sweet sister and her cutie pie Camden here. She did so much for us while she was here and we are very grateful for that as well as spending some fun time with our baby sister and her baby boy.

Nicole's April Visit (Mission Beach)

Sundays are always interesting at our house. I was very happy to have Nicole's company at church, and actually it wasn't too crazy because Caiti was home sick and Jason home napping with Aunt Michelle, so it was just Nicole, Camden, Garrett and me. After church, my neighbor JerriLynn came over with her family and watched the kids so that the three of us could get out of the house and have some fun. We decided to go on a walk at Mission Beach which is my favorite because it has a great walkway and just looks like what I always imagined California to look like.

Nicole's April Visit (Birthday party!)

So while Nicole was here, we had the chance to have a double birthday party on Michelle's birthday. We ended up celebrating both her birthday and Jason's birthday (which was last week). The first couple of pictures were actually taken on Jason's actual birthday with his birthday cake hat and the football his daddy wanted him to get for his birthday. On Michelle's birthday I made a delicious GF/CF chocolate birthday cake (I got the recipe from theglutengal.com). We ended up having a semi-successful Elmo party. Don't ask... After Garrett and Caiti went to school, Michelle, Nicole, Camden, Jason and I headed to the mall for birthday lunch and window shopping. Michelle was able to go later on during Garrett and Caiti's therapy to a beach to have some more birthday fun with Nicole and Camden. I hope she had a great birthday.

Nicole's April Visit (Kit Carson Park)

Today we decided to go somewhere none of us had heard of. We got in the car and headed to Kit Carson Park. The main reason we went there is because of Queen Califia's Magical Circle Garden. It is an amazing mosaic garden designed by French artist, Niki De Saint Phalle. Michelle realized that she had previously seen some of her work while in Nice, France. It was so neat and very fun to go to. Here are some pictures of our little adventure.
