Kevin finally came home from deployment on August 1, 2009. He had been gone since January 9, so we were all very excited to see him. Garrett and Caiti stayed home with Aunt Michelle to get the house all ready, and a good friend of ours dropped Jason and I off at the pier to await his arrival. :)
We had a sign and flags and everything. (They were provided for us at the base.)
Can you tell Jason was happy...until he heard all the cheering. That is one way he's related to Garrett and Caiti. He's not a fan of loud noises.
I'm so good at making signs.
The ship behind the other ship is Kevin's ship, the USS Comstock.
Someone must know daddy is getting closer!
I was trying to get the both of us in a picture to show who was there when his ship came in, but Jason was too distracted. Maybe it was the balloons.
Kevin's ship FINALLY made it in to the dock.
After about an hour of waiting Kevin finally called me on the cell phone and told me he was coming out to see me. That was him in the blue standing by the flag. He sure was a sight for sore eyes. Too bad I didn't figure out the zoom function on the camera until later.
Someone was pretty tired by then and wanted daddy to get off the ship already...which he did and we were able to go home.
I wasn't worried at all that Garrett wouldn't remember his daddy, but I was worried about Caiti's reaction. I had no need to fear. She was right at home with her daddy the second she was in his arms.

I absolutely love this picture.
And this picture. The family is back together again. :)
We had some great Welcome Home balloons. Hooray for the Dollar Tree.
We were all able to smother Kevin with attention.
And hear his great stories...Garrett was glad daddy was back so he could steal his Coke.
Can you tell who has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.
Jason was about ready for a nap by then. So much excitement in one day.
We had a sign and flags and everything. (They were provided for us at the base.)
I absolutely love this picture.
